I always think it’s funny when these captcha things make actual phrases.

NEW PROJECT ALERT!
Through This Window
Basically, a group of artist friends (including myself) is creating an online documentary webseries/webzine called “Through This Window.” The basic premise is that it will feature a significant video component, which will be kind of like a short monthly video version of This American Life with a Northwest bent. Each month will have a different theme or subject and multiple stories or angles and mediums/medias from which to tell them (ie interviews, poetry, fictional narrative shorts, music, animation, audio collages, etc.) The ‘webzine’ part of it would complement and provide context for the video portion, with the opportunity to post photos or writing or other art in a standalone way, too. Plus, potentially more interactive elements and the ability to take submissions, kind of like Miranda July’s Learning To Love You More website (that’s now, unfortunately, done.)
Get excited, get involved, get connected.

jendunlap:

What is this place?!? Bedford and Atlantic/pacific

It’s an old turn-of-the-century armory! For now, part of it is used as a homeless shelter and much of it is left unused. When I first moved to Crown Heights, I remember wondering what the hell that thing could be. So awesome and out of place!
